WINTER 2011/2012
The winter season is here and we are preparing for cross country skiing, tubing and sled riding and ice fishing.
Park office hours are 9 AM-5 PM Monday-Saturday and 10 AM -4 PM on Sunday.
Reservations for the 2012 season for pavilions, full hook-up sites, the Cottage, and the Farmhouse are now being taken.

Justus Lake is open for fishing.
The next Full Moon Night Hike will be on Saturday, January 7th, leaving from the Nature Lodge at 7:00 PM.
Participants should plan on being at the Nature Lodge no later than 6:30 PM.
The Park was recently notified by the PA Fish & Boat Commission that our grant for a new Boat Launch has been approved by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.
The engineering work and preliminary site work are in the planning stages and we hope to get the project underway in the Spring of 2012.
A "Winterfest" is currently being planned for Saturday, January 21st at the Park.
The Park is working with the Venango County Fatherhood Initiative which will coordinate a cardboard box sled derby for
the children at Pioneer Flats along with a snowman building contest.
In addition, an ice fishing contest to raise funds for the new fountain in Oil City is being sponsored by
Williams Decorating and Dunhams Sports. Cross Country Ski rentals will be available at the Park office and
we are planning to offer ski lessons on that day. In case of bad weather, an alternate date of Saturday, February 4th has been selected.

The Lockwood Observatory is scheduled to be open to the public on clear Friday nights from 7 PM until 9:15 PM.
Additional winter events for the Park are in the planning stages and these will also be announced in the near future.
Our 2,695 acre Park with its 144 acre Justus Lake and nearly 28 miles of trails make
it a year-round great place to have fun and simply enjoy the outdoors.
